Trim Panel Retainers
Trim panel retainers fasten door panels, kick panels, quarter trim and other interior panels to the inner body. Most are fir-tree or ribbed-stem clips that snap into a hole in the door shell and hold the panel with a head that slides into a slot or bracket on the back of the trim. Double-head and triple-head styles, sealed retainers and window handle clips are also included here.
The selection covers OE-style retainers from Auveco and K-Tool International for GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai and Kia, plus assortments for shops that service many makes. Each listing gives the head diameter, stem length and the vehicles the retainer fits.
Door panel clips often break when a panel is removed. Use a forked trim tool to release them close to the stem, and replace any clip that is cracked or loose so the panel does not rattle or leak.
