15mm Trim Masking Tape - 3M Automotive

The 3M Trim Masking Tape (Model 6348) from 3M Automotive is an indispensable tool for professional automotive painters and body shop technicians. This innovative 15mm wide tape is engineered to precisely lift vehicle moldings, creating a clean, consistent gap for paint to flow underneath. It effectively streamlines the painting process by eliminating the need for time-consuming molding removal and reinstallation, significantly reducing labor and material costs.

Key Features

• Precision Molding Lift: Designed to actively lift moldings away from the vehicle surface, ensuring a sharp, uniform paint edge without paint bridging.
• Ideal for Flush-Mount Glass: This tape performs particularly well on flush-mount windshield and back glass moldings, where achieving a clean paint line is challenging.
• Efficient Application: A firm 15mm strip easily slides under the molding. The liner is then removed from the adhesive side, allowing the tape to be folded over and adhered to the glass, maintaining the lifted position.
• Cost and Time Savings: Eliminates the need for costly removal and reinstallation of existing moldings, along with the associated labor, while preventing unsightly paint lines.
• Professional Results: Contributes to a high-quality, factory-like finish by allowing paint to flow evenly under moldings, avoiding rework and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Applications

This 3M Trim Masking Tape is specifically designed for use in professional automotive refinishing, collision repair centers, and custom paint shops. It is an essential component for technicians performing full vehicle repaints, panel repairs, and detail work where precise masking around windows, door trims, and other moldings is critical for a superior finish.
