Punches

Punches are hand tools used to drive or remove pins, rivets, and other fasteners. They are available in a variety of styles, each designed for a specific purpose.

Body or center punches are used to mark metal before drilling. They have a sharp, pointed tip that is hardened to withstand repeated use.

Pin punches have a tapered tip that is designed to drive out pins. They are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate different pin diameters.

Rivet punches have a curved tip that is used to remove rivets. The tip is inserted under the head of the rivet and struck with a hammer to drive the rivet out.

Slip punches are used to drive or remove tapered pins. They have a tapered tip that is inserted into the hole in the pin and struck with a hammer to drive the pin out.

Captive ball punches are used to install captive ball bearings. They have a ball-shaped tip that is inserted into the hole in the bearing and struck with a hammer to drive the bearing into place.

Bullet punches are used to drive or remove small pins. They have a cylindrical tip that is slightly larger than the diameter of the pin.

Crimping punches are used to crimp or expand metal. They have a tapered tip that is inserted into the metal and struck with a hammer to deform the metal.
