10 Reasons to Consider the Optimate 3+ Motorcycle Battery Charger:- Automatically tests flat batteries for sulfated condition & if necessary applies a special high voltage (up to 22V) recovery action - for a maximum two hours, limited for safety reasons. The special recovery action can restore batteries neglected up to a year or more. Battery needs to be disconnected from vehicle for this recovery program to activate.

- Unique 30-minute timed charge verification stage ensures full charge - even for well-used batteries with irregular charging voltage characteristics. Premature termination of the bulk charge stage may result from such irregularities. The circuit identifies this & reverts from float to bulk charge stage to correct its own program.
- 30-minute timed check for excessive battery self-discharge. This test is performed automatically AFTER the charge verification stage is completed, for a real, practical diagnosis of the battery's true serviceability. According to the outcome of this test, a green LED signals << battery O.K. & ready >> or a red LED signals << battery suspect or possible vehicle wiring defect >>. Either way the battery is then maintained in float voltage mode until disconnected.
