The JIMS USA Cam Bearing Gauge 2249 is a set of two go/no-go gauges used to check the inside diameter of the inner cam bearing on all Big Twin 1958-present single cam engines. The gauges are made of hardened steel and feature a black oxide finish for corrosion resistance. The go gauge has a slightly larger diameter than the no-go gauge, and is used to check if the cam is too tight. The no-go gauge has a slightly smaller diameter than the go gauge, and is used to check if the cam is too loose.

Usage Instructions

1. Align the cam bearing with the go/no-go gauge.

Troubleshooting

If the cam bearing is too tight, it can cause damage to the end of the journal and other problems with the cam. If the cam bearing is too loose, it can rock fore and aft causing noise and unnecessary cam, bearing, and roller wear.
