The Mayhew Tools 67001 3 Piece Brass Scraper Set provides professional technicians with a reliable solution for preparing and cleaning sensitive surfaces. Crafted from solid brass, these tools are engineered to be non-marring and non-sparking, crucial for protecting delicate components in automotive, industrial, and potentially hazardous environments. This set ensures controlled material removal while minimizing the risk of damage or ignition during critical maintenance tasks.
Key Features
- Non-Marring, Non-Sparking Brass Construction: Each scraper is made from solid brass, preventing scratches on machined surfaces and reducing the risk of sparks when working near flammable materials or dust.
- Versatile Three-Piece Set: The set includes 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" brass scrapers, offering suitable sizes for a range of applications, from tight gasket channels to broader cleanup areas.
- Enhanced Control with Knurled Handles: Textured handles provide a secure and comfortable grip, allowing for precise control even when hands are greasy or in challenging work positions.
- Precision-Polished Blades: Smooth, polished blades are designed to effectively slide under gaskets, carbon buildup, and sealants, enabling accurate scraping without gouging delicate surfaces.
- Professional-Grade Durability: Built by Mayhew Tools, this brass scraper set is constructed to withstand the rigorous demands of daily use in professional automotive, industrial, and maintenance settings.
Applications
This brass scraper set is ideal for removing gaskets, RTV, carbon buildup, decals, tape, and soft adhesives from various components. It is particularly effective on engine blocks, valve covers, intake manifolds, transmission pans, and aluminum housings. Commonly used in automotive repair, gunsmithing, and aviation maintenance, these tools are also essential in demanding environments such as oil, gas, chemical, and mining facilities where non-sparking tools are a safety requirement. They are suitable for tasks on aluminum cylinder heads, soft metal housings, plastic components, and painted surfaces where more aggressive steel scrapers are unsuitable.
