The Sunmight 01211 Film Open Coated Grip Disc is a professional-grade sanding solution engineered for automotive and industrial applications requiring precision and durability. This 5-inch, P220 grit disc delivers consistent performance for preparing surfaces, ensuring a refined finish for subsequent steps. Crafted with premium materials, it is designed to meet the demands of professional technicians and mechanics.
Key Features
- Premium Aluminum Oxide Grain: Utilizes a high-quality aluminum oxide abrasive (Premium A) for aggressive material removal and a uniform scratch pattern on various substrates, including primers, clear coats, and metals.
- Durable Polyester Film Backing: Constructed with a robust polyester film backing that offers superior tear resistance, flexibility, and dimensional stability, leading to a flatter, more consistent sanding surface.
- Open Coat Design: The open coat abrasive distribution minimizes loading and clogging, especially when sanding softer materials or paints, extending the disc's operational life and maintaining cutting efficiency.
- Strong Phenolic Resin Bond: Features a phenolic resin bond that securely anchors the abrasive grains to the backing, providing excellent heat resistance and preventing premature grain shedding during demanding use.
- Velcro (Grip) Attachment: Equipped with a hook-and-loop (Velcro) backing for quick, secure, and tool-free attachment and removal from orbital sanders, enhancing workflow efficiency.
- 5-inch No-Hole Configuration: The 5-inch diameter with a no-hole design is ideal for applications where dust extraction through the pad is not required, offering full abrasive coverage for specific sanding tasks.
Applications
This versatile disc is suitable for a wide range of professional applications. In automotive settings, it excels in tasks such as sanding primers, scuffing clear coats, feather edging, and preparing surfaces for painting or blending. Industrially, the P220 grit is effective for finishing metals, plastics, composites, and woodworking projects, providing a consistent surface profile before finer finishing or coating processes.
