when the clamp clip is tightened, the claws of the extractor hooks
locate under the part to be extracted and lever it free as force is
applied before extraction begins;
for extracting gearwheels, ball bearings, pulleys, drop arms and
similar parts from shafts or axles;
the clamp clip presses the extractor hooks firmly against the part
being extracted.
