The Irwin LENOX Metal Max DIAM CUTOFF WHEEL, model 1972925, is engineered for professional automotive and industrial applications, offering exceptional durability and consistent performance. This 8" x 5/8" diamond-edged cutting wheel significantly outperforms traditional bonded abrasive wheels, providing a more efficient and cleaner cutting experience across a variety of metals.
Key Features
- Extended Lifespan: Delivers 1,000 or more cuts without requiring wheel changes, offering up to 30 times longer life compared to thin bonded cut-off wheels in similar applications. This significantly increases productivity and reduces downtime.
- Consistent Cutting Depth: Unlike abrasive wheels, the LENOX MetalMax maintains its original diameter throughout its life, ensuring a consistent cutting depth for improved control, reach, and precision on every cut.
- Reduced Dust and Odor: The diamond cutting edge produces significantly less dust and odor compared to traditional abrasives, as the wheel does not wear down. This contributes to a cleaner and safer work environment, with sparks originating solely from the material being cut.
- Broad Material Compatibility: Designed for effective cutting across multiple metal types, including steel, sheet metal, stainless steel, rebar, cast iron, aluminum, and various non-ferrous metals.
Applications
This durable cutoff wheel is ideal for professional technicians and mechanics working on fabrication, repair, and construction tasks. It excels in cutting automotive components, structural steel, pipes, and various industrial materials where precision and efficiency are critical. When cutting aluminum, applying a cutting wax or saw lubricant is recommended to prevent chip welding and ensure optimal performance.
