This clutch alignment tool has been designed to center the clutch disk with the pressure plate when it is installed. If this is not done accurately the gearbox mainshaft will not be able to locate the splines of the clutch disk hub, and it will be impossible to fit the gearbox to the engine.
The use of this tool is a must whenever changing a clutch.
It is made of glass filled nylon for strength and held to exact tolerances for an ideal fit.
For use on all water-cooled Volkswagens except those with 16 valve engines.
