ABS Power Line Carrier (PLC) Converter - NEXIQ Technologies

Effective March 2001, a Federal Government mandate required that heavy-duty trucks have an in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp. Using a new SAE standard called PLC communication, the change requires trailer ABS ECU's to communicate with the tractor ECU via the J560 power line to activate the trailer warning lamp. NEXIQ's PLC Converter is for use with NEXIQ PLC test application (sold applications) for the Pro-Link Plus, PC or Heavy Duty Standard Suite for Palm OS application. When the converter is used with the PLC test application it provides the ability to:

• Verify trailer ABS ECU for MID 10 and MID 11 messages.
• Toggle in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp ON/OFF to confirm operation.
• Test tractor and trailer coupled or trailer independently for MID messages.
