Film 04202 Open Coated File Sheet, 2-3/4 in W x 16-1/2 in L, - Sunmight Usa

The Sunmight USA 04202 Open Coated Film File Sheet is a professional-grade abrasive engineered for demanding automotive and industrial applications. This 2-3/4 inch x 16-1/2 inch PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) file sheet features a durable film backing and an aggressive 36-grit premium aluminum oxide abrasive, designed for efficient material removal and consistent surface preparation.

Key Features

• Aggressive 36-Grit Abrasive: Utilizes premium aluminum oxide grain to deliver fast, sharp cutting performance and efficient material removal on various surfaces. This grit is ideal for coarser sanding and preparing surfaces.
• Durable Polyester Film Backing: Constructed from thin, yet highly resistant polyester film, this backing offers exceptional tear resistance and flexibility. It maintains dimensional stability, preventing warping or curling, and ensures consistent, uniform finishes.
• Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA): Enables quick, secure attachment and easy removal from file boards, enhancing productivity and allowing for rapid sheet changes.
• Open Coat Design: The spaced abrasive grains effectively reduce clogging and pilling, particularly when working with softer materials or during heavy stock removal. This design promotes cooler cutting and extends the abrasive's working life.
• Phenolic Resin Bond: A strong phenolic resin bond provides superior heat resistance and abrasive retention, ensuring excellent cutting performance and durability under heavy use in professional environments.

Applications

Ideal for professional technicians and mechanics, the Sunmight 04202 film file sheet excels in preparing automotive body panels for painting, shaping fillers, and efficiently removing rust or old coatings. Its robust construction and moisture resistance also make it suitable for various industrial sanding, deburring, and finishing tasks on metal, wood, and plastics, where aggressive material removal and a consistent finish are required. It can be used for both wet and dry sanding applications.
