Designed for the Volkswagen and Porsche engine, this unique ring compressor works on most all import cars.
The air-cooled VW and Porsche having separate cylinders for each piston, requires installation of the cylinder over the piston once the piston is attached to the engine. This unique tool compresses the rings with the use of your own pliers allowing the cylinder to be slipped on over the piston. Then the slot in the compressor allows it to be removed around the connecting rod and past the studs. On conventional engines, this tool compresses the rings on the piston allowing it to be slid into the engine block.
