Surface Prep Pad, 3 in (Fine Grit) - FORNEY INDUSTRIES

Part #: 71917

Fine Grit Abrasive: Engineered for light material removal, cleaning, and creating a consistent scuff pattern essential for optimal adhesion.
3-Inch Diameter: Optimally sized for precision work in tight spaces, contoured areas, and detailed surface preparation tasks.
Durable Construction: Designed for consistent performance and an extended lifespan across various demanding applications.
Versatile Compatibility: Suitable for use with a wide range of rotary and orbital tools that accommodate 3-inch surface prep pads.
Non-Woven Material: Provides controlled, even abrasion without significantly altering the workpiece's original geometry.

Automotive Surface Preparation: Ideal for scuffing existing paint, clear coats, and primers to ensure strong adhesion of new paint layers.
Metal Conditioning: Effectively removes light rust, oxidation, and surface contaminants, preparing metal for painting, welding, or coating processes.
Wood Finishing: Use for light sanding between coats of varnish or paint, deburring, and preparing wood surfaces for staining or sealing.
Composite and Plastic Preparation: Gentle enough for cleaning and preparing composite and plastic surfaces for bonding or finishing applications.
Blending and Deburring: Achieves smooth transitions between different surface textures and removes minor burrs without aggressive material removal.

Achieve Superior Adhesion: The fine grit consistently scuffs surfaces, creating an ideal profile for primers, paints, and coatings to bond effectively, preventing premature peeling or chipping.
Save Time on Prep Work: Efficiently prepares surfaces, reducing the need for tedious manual sanding and accelerating project completion for various tasks.
Ensure Uniform Finish: Delivers a consistent and even scratch pattern, crucial for achieving a professional-looking final finish without noticeable swirl marks or uneven areas.
Access Tight Areas with Precision: The compact 3-inch diameter allows users to easily work on intricate designs, corners, and hard-to-reach spots that larger abrasive pads cannot access.
Minimize Surface Damage: Provides controlled, light abrasion, effectively cleaning and conditioning without removing excessive material or creating deep, unwanted scratches.
