Surface Prep Pad, 3 in (Medium Grit) - FORNEY INDUSTRIES

Part #: 71911

Medium Grit Abrasive: Features a medium grit abrasive composition, ideal for general cleaning, light material removal, and surface conditioning.
Compact 3-inch Diameter: The small diameter allows for precise work, access into tight spaces, and efficient preparation of smaller or intricate surfaces.
Durable Non-Woven Material: Constructed from robust, non-woven synthetic fibers designed for extended lifespan and consistent performance without excessive loading.
Open Web Structure: Promotes cool cutting and resistance to clogging, ensuring sustained abrasive action and a uniform finish.

Pre-Paint Preparation: Effectively scuffs and cleans surfaces to create an optimal profile for primer and paint adhesion in automotive, industrial, and DIY projects.
Light Rust and Oxide Removal: Removes surface rust, corrosion, and oxidation from various metals and alloys.
Blending and Finishing: Achieves a consistent satin finish or blends scratch patterns on metal, plastic, and composite materials.
Gasket Surface Cleaning: Prepares mating surfaces by efficiently removing old gasket material, sealants, and residues.
Surface Contaminant Removal: Cleans off old coatings, scale, and other surface imperfections before further processing.

Efficient Surface Conditioning: Rapidly prepares surfaces for subsequent steps such as painting, coating, or sealing, saving time and manual effort.
Consistent Finish Quality: Delivers a uniform scratch pattern that is crucial for achieving professional-grade painting and finishing results.
Enhanced Coating Adhesion: Creates an ideal mechanical anchor pattern, significantly improving the bond strength and longevity of new coatings.
Versatile Material Compatibility: Safely and effectively prepares a wide range of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites.
Reduced Clogging: The non-loading design extends the pad's usable life and maintains its abrasive effectiveness during prolonged use.
