The Stant 12470 includes a computer interface port than connects the tester to BAR97 analyzer equipment allowing the tester to communicate continuously with these computer systems.

The 12470 tester uses the flow comparison method of testing. The leak rate of the cap is compared to a pre-determined leak rate in the tester.
