Arc Flash Protection

Arc Flash Protection

Arc flash clothing protects workers from the heat of an electrical arc when they work on or near energized equipment. Each garment carries an arc rating in calories per square centimeter, and the rating you need comes from the hazard analysis for the job. Higher ratings mean heavier protection.

This category includes Oberon arc flash coats with escape straps, complete suit kits with hoods, bib overalls, ultralight coveralls and EZ Lift PPE bag kits, in ratings from 12 cal to 75 cal and sizes from S to 5XL.

Arc-rated clothing should be worn with the arc-rated face shield or hood, voltage-rated gloves and leather protectors the task requires. Inspect garments before each use and replace any that are damaged or contaminated.
