The ATD Tools 7551 McPherson Strut Compressor is a professional-grade tool engineered for the safe and efficient compression of coil springs on MacPherson-style strut assemblies. Designed for the rigorous demands of daily workshop use, this robust compressor allows technicians to confidently manage high spring tension across a wide range of passenger cars and light trucks, enhancing operational safety and workflow efficiency during critical suspension service tasks.

Key Features

Specialized MacPherson Design: Specifically engineered for MacPherson strut assemblies, this tool provides a secure and precise grip on coil springs commonly found in most domestic and import vehicles. It is compatible with both impact wrenches and hand tools for versatile operation.
Controlled Spring Compression: Facilitates the safe compression of high spring loads, maintaining proper alignment throughout the process to minimize the risk of slippage or component damage.
Durable Professional Construction: Manufactured from high-strength materials, this heavy-duty, two-piece tool ensures long-term reliability and resistance to wear in demanding automotive and industrial workshop environments. Proudly made in the USA.
Secure Coil Engagement: Features robust jaws designed for positive contact with spring coils across the entire compression range, supporting consistent and predictable operation without the need for additional clamps or devices.

Applications

This essential tool supports various suspension service procedures, including the removal and installation of coil springs on MacPherson strut assemblies. Its primary applications encompass the replacement of strut cartridges, complete strut units, shock absorbers contained within strut assemblies, and damaged or fatigued coil springs on most passenger cars and light-duty trucks equipped with MacPherson-style suspensions.
