The Sunmight 96120 Sunfoam Grip Disc is a professional-grade abrasive designed for achieving refined finishes in automotive and industrial applications. This 3-inch, P1000 grit foam disc utilizes aluminum oxide grain for consistent performance, making it ideal for preparing surfaces for polishing and removing minor imperfections. Its specialized fabric-on-foam construction ensures even pressure distribution and adaptability on contoured surfaces.

Key Features

Advanced Foam and Fabric Construction: The unique fabric-on-foam structure provides uniform surface pressure and excellent conformability, crucial for working on curved and irregular surfaces without causing deep scratches.
P1000 Aluminum Oxide Grit: Features a P1000 grit aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its consistent cutting action that effectively refines sand scratches and prepares surfaces for subsequent polishing stages.
Reduced Compounding Time: Engineered with a special abrasive coating, this grip disc allows for simultaneous sanding and polishing, significantly reducing the overall compounding and finishing time in clear coat applications.
Wet Sanding Capability: Designed to perform effectively in wet sanding conditions, which helps minimize dust and heat buildup while promoting a smoother finish.
No-Hole Velcro Attachment: The 3-inch, no-hole design, combined with a robust Velcro (grip) attachment, ensures quick and secure disc changes while maintaining a clean sanding surface.

Applications

The Sunmight 96120 Sunfoam Grip Disc is a versatile tool for professional technicians and mechanics across various industries. It excels in automotive clear coat finishing, where it refines sand scratches, removes orange peel, and prepares paint for final polishing. This disc is also suitable for marine, aerospace, wood, and metal applications requiring a high-quality, swirl-free finish on both flat and contoured surfaces. Its ability to reduce compounding time makes it an efficient choice for achieving a desirable gloss on solid surfaces.
