Dry Guide Coat Powder - Norton Company

The Norton Dry Guide Coat Powder, model 66623334772, is a specialized solution engineered for professional automotive and industrial finishing. This high-contrast, dry-applied powder enables technicians to precisely identify surface imperfections on body filler, primer, OEM finishes, and various industrial substrates, streamlining the preparation process before subsequent coating applications.

Key Features

• Efficient Dry Application: Applies without flash time, allowing immediate sanding and optimizing workflow efficiency by eliminating the need for masking adjacent panels.
• Enhanced Defect Visibility: High-visibility black powder clearly highlights minor imperfections such as scratches, pinholes, low spots, and waves, facilitating targeted corrections and reducing rework.
• Uniform Coverage: Engineered for consistent spread across both large and contoured surfaces, ensuring reliable defect identification on components like hoods, doors, and complex industrial parts.
• Non-Clogging Formulation: Designed to prevent loading of sanding discs or sheets, maintaining consistent abrasive performance and extending tool life.
• Clean Removal: Wipes or sands away cleanly, preventing residue that could compromise the adhesion or finish of subsequent primers, sealers, or topcoats.

Applications

This dry guide coat powder is a crucial tool for collision repair and refinishing on passenger cars, light trucks, commercial vehicles, and fleet equipment. It is utilized after body filler application and block sanding to verify panel straightness and over primers and surfacers to identify low areas before basecoat application. In industrial settings, it supports quality control on fabricated parts, enclosures, and components where a flat, defect-free surface is critical prior to final coating. It can be sanded using either wet or dry sanding methods.
