The 3M Automotive 2-3/4" x 16" P120 Hookit Gold abrasive strips are designed for efficient and precise material removal in professional collision repair and industrial fabrication. These durable strips deliver a consistent P120 scratch pattern, ideal for surface preparation across various substrates, and feature rapid Hookit attachment for minimized downtime in busy shops.
Key Features
- Professional P120 Grit: Provides a medium-fine cut for precise shaping, leveling, and preparation of body filler, glazing putty, and primer surfaces.
- Hookit Hook-and-Loop Attachment: Ensures quick, secure attachment and easy removal from compatible sanding blocks and file boards, enhancing workflow efficiency.
- Load-Resistant Coating: Engineered to reduce premature clogging, particularly when sanding primers and fillers, thereby extending abrasive life and maintaining consistent cutting action.
- Durable Backing: Features a robust, tear-resistant construction built to withstand aggressive hand or machine sanding in high-production professional environments.
- Consistent Scratch Pattern: Produces a uniform P120 profile, crucial for achieving smooth transitions to subsequent grits and ensuring optimal adhesion for primers and basecoats.
Applications
These abrasive strips are widely utilized in automotive body repair for passenger cars, SUVs, light trucks, and commercial vehicles. Common applications include sanding body filler, feather edging repair areas, refining glazing putty, and preparing primer surfacers prior to subsequent finishing steps. They are also suitable for general surface preparation on metals, composites, and wood in industrial and fabrication shops requiring a uniform P120 finish before painting, coating, or sealing processes.
