The Sunmight 08116R Sanding Sheet is a professional-grade abrasive engineered for superior performance in automotive and industrial finishing applications. Measuring 9 inches by 11 inches, this P400 grit sheet features a premium aluminum oxide grain and a durable latex paper backing, designed for both wet and dry sanding tasks. Its advanced construction ensures consistent results, extended life, and an optimal finish for demanding projects.

Key Features

Premium Aluminum Oxide Grain: Utilizes a high-quality aluminum oxide abrasive for excellent cutting performance, sharper cutting, and a longer lifespan, ensuring a perfect sanding surface.
Flexible Latex Paper Backing: The latex paper backing provides superior flexibility, allowing the sheet to conform effectively to curves and contours for even sanding and refined finishes. It is also tear-resistant and waterproof for versatile use.
Phenolic Resin Bond: A robust phenolic resin bond securely anchors the abrasive grains, offering high strength, toughness, and resistance to water and temperature fluctuations, enhancing the sheet's durability and performance.
Open Coat Technology: The open coat design minimizes clogging by allowing sanding residue to fall away, promoting cooler sanding and extending the abrasive's working life, especially on softer materials or finishes prone to loading.
P400 Grit for Refined Finishes: The P400 grit is ideal for between-coat sanding, de-glossing surfaces, leveling minor imperfections, and preparing substrates for primer or paint application in automotive and industrial settings.

Applications

This versatile sanding sheet is an essential tool for professional technicians and mechanics. It is particularly effective for preparing automotive surfaces, such as scuffing glaze and spot putty before primer application, and for blending primer and paint. In industrial environments, the 08116R sheet is suitable for fine finishing of wood and metal surfaces, light surface leveling, and achieving a smooth, consistent base prior to final coatings. Its waterproof construction also makes it ideal for wet sanding operations, reducing heat and preventing clogging.
