GAL 4:1 HB PRIMER BLACK - U-POL

The U-POL GAL 4:1 HB PRIMER BLACK (UP2275) is a high-solids, 2K urethane primer engineered for professional automotive and industrial refinishing. This robust formulation provides exceptional film build and superior surface leveling, establishing a durable foundation for professional-grade topcoat finishes. It is designed to optimize surface preparation for efficient and effective results in demanding shop environments.

Key Features

• Versatile Mixing Ratios: Functions as a high-build primer filler (4:1), a primer surfacer (4:1:1), or a primer sealer (4:1:2), offering adaptability for various repair scenarios.
• Superior Film Build and Leveling: Formulated to achieve significant film build, effectively filling minor imperfections and sand scratches to create a smooth, uniform base essential for a flawless topcoat.
• Broad Substrate Compatibility: Direct application is possible on bare metal, most plastics, unsanded E-coat, and properly prepared aluminum and galvanized surfaces. An acid etch primer like U-POL ACID#8 is recommended for aluminum and galvanized.
• Optimized Sanding: Engineered for quick drying and easy sanding, both wet or dry, which streamlines workflows and reduces preparation time for technicians.
• Tintable Formulation: Can be tinted with up to 10% urethane mixing base for improved color matching, particularly beneficial under darker topcoats to enhance vibrancy.

Applications

This U-POL black high-build primer is suitable for a wide array of professional automotive and industrial refinishing tasks. It is ideal for preparing vehicle surfaces for paint application, accommodating both spot repairs and comprehensive panel coverage across diverse car models and industrial equipment. The primer establishes a smooth and consistent base, crucial for enhancing the final appearance and durability of subsequent topcoat layers on multiple substrates such as bare metal, fiberglass, polyester fillers, and existing paintwork, while effectively addressing minor surface defects, scratches, and inconsistencies on compatible substrates.
