The U-POL UP0789 WELD#2 Weld-Through Primer is a professional-grade solution designed for automotive and industrial applications where panels require welding and robust corrosion protection. This 450 mL metallic silver primer offers high adhesion and exceptional electrical conductivity, making it ideal for use prior to various welding techniques like SPOT, MIG, and TIG. Its specialized formula, rich in pure zinc, ensures a durable, semi-flexible finish that actively safeguards against rust and corrosion, even in demanding environments.

Key Features

• Weld-Through Capability: Engineered to allow direct welding over the primed surface without compromising weld integrity or promoting spatter.
• Superior Conductivity: High purity zinc in the dry film ensures excellent electrical conductivity, facilitating clean and efficient welds.
• Advanced Corrosion Protection: Formulated with a high concentration of zinc, it provides sacrificial galvanic protection, actively preventing rust and corrosion even if the coating is scratched.
• High Adhesion: Offers strong bonding to metal substrates, ensuring a long-lasting and reliable protective layer.
• Fast Drying Formula: Accelerates the repair process by allowing welding to commence within 10-20 minutes of application, dependent on conditions.
• Clog-Free Nozzle: Designed for consistent and trouble-free application, minimizing downtime and ensuring an even coat.

Applications

The U-POL UP0789 WELD#2 Weld-Through Primer is an essential product for professional technicians and mechanics in a variety of settings. It is specifically designed for use on bare metal joints and mating flanges in automotive body repair, chassis work, and industrial fabrication. This primer is suitable for protecting areas that will be subsequently welded and may become inaccessible, providing vital long-term corrosion resistance for components and structural repairs. It is particularly beneficial for collision repairs where maintaining the vehicle's original corrosion protection is critical.
