GAL SELF ETCHING PRIMER - Transtar

The Transtar 6111 GAL Self Etching Primer is a professional-grade, gallon-sized solution engineered for superior adhesion and lasting corrosion protection on diverse metal substrates. This two-part self-etching and passivating primer creates an optimal etched profile, establishing a robust foundation crucial for subsequent topcoat applications in demanding automotive and industrial environments, while streamlining workflow by eliminating separate metal conditioning.

Key Features

• Superior Adhesion: Chemically etches bare metal surfaces, including aluminum, steel, and galvanized surfaces, ensuring exceptional bonding for a wide range of paint and coatings, thereby significantly enhancing the overall durability of the finish.
• Robust Corrosion Protection: Actively safeguards metal components against rust and oxidation, contributing to the extended integrity and lifespan of the underlying material.
• Efficient Workflow: Fast-drying formula facilitates efficient project workflow with rapid drying times, allowing for quicker recoating intervals and accelerated job completion for professional users.
• Simplified Surface Preparation: As a two-part system with an easy 1:1 mix ratio (with activator like 6121-F), it streamlines preparation by eliminating the need for separate acid etch treatments and requires no induction time.

Applications

Ideal for professional environments requiring robust surface preparation, the Transtar 6111 excels in automotive refinishing. It effectively prepares vehicle bodies, panels, and other components for durable paint adhesion in collision repair and restoration, and serves as an excellent tie coat over unsanded E-coat. For metal fabrication, it primes new or existing bare steel, hot rolled steel, and galvanized steel, ensuring strong paint grip and protection. It's also suitable for industrial maintenance on machinery, equipment, and structural metal, offering enhanced adhesion and corrosion resistance. Versatile application extends to degreased and sanded existing finishes, fiberglass/SMC gel coat, and fully cured body filler.
