Stikit Disc Pad, 8" 1 Pad - 3M Automotive

The 3M Automotive Stikit Disc Pad 5581 is an 8-inch Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) backing pad designed for high-volume sanding operations in professional automotive collision repair and demanding industrial environments. This durable pad ensures consistent abrasive performance and secure disc adhesion, facilitating efficient material removal and achieving a smooth finish across large surfaces.

Key Features

• Efficient Coverage: The 8-inch diameter effectively covers large panels, including hoods, roofs, and doors, which helps reduce the number of sanding passes required and enhances overall panel preparation efficiency.
• Secure Stikit™ PSA Attachment: Utilizes 3M Stikit™ Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) for quick and easy abrasive disc changes, maintaining a strong, reliable hold even during aggressive sanding to minimize workstation downtime.
• Professional-Grade Durability: Constructed from robust, medium-density foam materials, this pad is built to endure continuous, rigorous use in busy automotive body shops and industrial facilities without compromising performance or pad longevity.
• Precision and Control: Engineered with a 15-degree tapered edge and balanced design, the pad minimizes vibration, promoting uniform material removal and consistently achieving high-quality surface finishes, particularly on flat areas.
• Optimized System Compatibility: Designed for synergistic pairing with 3M Stikit™ 8-inch abrasive discs, this pad provides predictable cutting action and steadfast adhesion. It is compatible with 5-hole orbital and random orbital sanders, including models like National Detroit 900 and Dynabrade 57700.

Applications

• Surface preparation on new OEM and refinish panels before applying primers, sealers, and topcoats.
• Blending and feather-edging repair areas to achieve seamless transitions into adjacent factory finishes.
• General sanding and finishing on various substrates such as metals, body fillers, primers, and select composite materials in automotive, fleet, and industrial settings.
• Maintenance and fabrication tasks requiring efficient stock removal and uniform scratch patterns with 8-inch PSA abrasive discs.
