A revised procedure has been developed for setting or checking the governor gap for double weight limiting speed (DWLS) governors used on Detroit Diesel V-71 and V-92. This procedure is performed with the engine stopped. J-35516 is inserted between low speed weight and riser, forcing the weights against the maximum travel stop, allowing setting of the governor gap.
