Torque Limiting Extension and - Astro Pneumatic

The Astro Pneumatic 78818 is an 8-piece Torque Limiting Extension and Protective Impact Socket Combo Set, engineered for professional technicians who demand precise, controlled torque application and component protection when utilizing impact wrenches. This specialized 1/2" drive set prevents fastener overtightening and safeguards critical components, particularly during wheel and tire service. It delivers consistent, repeatable torque and protection in demanding automotive and light industrial environments.

Key Features

• Calibrated Torque Control: Includes four color-coded torque limiting extensions (90, 100, 110, and 120 ft-lbs) engineered to flex at specific torque values, preventing over-torque on studs, bolts, and nuts when paired with pneumatic or cordless impact wrenches.
• Wheel Damage Prevention: Features four protective lug nut impact sockets (17mm, 19mm (3/4"), 21mm (13/16"), and 7/8") equipped with protective sleeves and inserts to prevent damage to expensive wheels during lug nut installation and removal.
• Impact-Rated Durability: Constructed from robust chrome molybdenum alloy steel, this set is designed to withstand the high-impact demands and continuous use found in professional automotive and light industrial settings, ensuring long-term reliability and resistance to fatigue.
• Consistent Fastener Accuracy: Delivers uniform torque across multiple fasteners, which is crucial for passenger cars, light trucks, and SUVs where accurate wheel and brake service directly impacts vehicle safety and performance.
• Color-Coded for Efficiency: Both the torque limiting extensions and protective sockets are color-coded for quick identification of torque values and sizes, streamlining workflow.

Applications

The Astro Pneumatic 78818 Torque Limiting Extension and Protective Impact Socket Combo Set is ideally suited for:

• Wheel & Tire Service: Facilitates the correct installation and removal of wheel lug nuts, ensuring proper clamp load for various vehicle types and enhancing overall vehicle safety, while protecting wheel finishes.
• Suspension & Brake Work: Provides controlled torque during repairs on suspension, steering, and brake systems, helping to prevent component distortion, premature wear, or alignment issues.
• General Automotive & Industrial Assembly: Enhances consistency and reduces rework in a wide range of repair and assembly tasks that demand controlled torque from an impact tool, particularly where component protection is critical.
