The Lisle 61170 Compact Wrench is a specialized 5-inch service tool engineered to provide reliable access to drain air valve (DAV) fittings and other valves situated in tight, obstructed areas. Its short length and purpose-built head geometry allow technicians to reach and turn fasteners that standard wrenches cannot access or adequately swing, particularly around chassis components, frames, and crossmembers. This wrench is designed for professional use, enhancing efficiency in demanding service environments.
Key Features
- Compact 5-inch Length: The short handle design offers superior maneuverability in confined spaces, allowing access to fittings without compromising control on stubborn or corroded components.
- DAV-Focused Profile: The wrench head is precisely sized and shaped for common drain air valve fittings, engineered to minimize the risk of rounding off fasteners, reduce slippage, and prevent the need for repeat repairs.
- Professional-Grade Construction: Manufactured from durable materials, this tool is built to withstand daily use in fleet shops, heavy truck service centers, and various industrial maintenance settings.
- Positive Grip in Awkward Positions: Optimized geometry ensures consistent engagement on fasteners, even when working at challenging angles or with limited hand clearance, improving technician safety and task completion.
- Lightweight, Low-Bulk Design: Weighing only 0.4 lbs, it stores conveniently on a service cart, in a tool pouch, or alongside other specialty valve service tools, ensuring it's always at hand.
Applications
The Lisle 61170 Compact Wrench is well-suited for servicing DAV and similar valve systems found on heavy-duty trucks, buses, trailers, and industrial air systems. It proves particularly effective when performing valve installation, adjustment, or periodic service near chassis rails, suspension components, brake plumbing, and crossmembers where access is severely restricted. This tool is ideal for professional technicians, fleet maintenance teams, and industrial mechanics seeking a reliable solution for valve service in challenging locations.
