Ring gear position and pre-load are critical for optimum performance and durability. Once the ring gear is positioned correctly in relation to the pinion, the preload must be set. J-24429 is used to turn the side bearing adjuster on 9.5" rear axles to achieve the required pre-load on the side bearings. Unapproved methods will damage the side bearing adjuster holes.
