Make sure the battery is charged. Out of the box it will not be. If you have a problem, it is good to put the battery in the charger for a good 16 hours--not just wait for the green light. When you have the battery in the tool, you should be able to see the arrow in its base pointing forward. If you see three silver buttons, you have the battery in upside down. Turn on the power (I/O) button. The light should come on.
