The Eliminator Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detector - CPS Products

Part #: LS3000B

Specifications

The CPS Products LS3000B Eliminator Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detector utilizes a patented Cold Cathode Diode (CCD) sensor for precise leak detection. It identifies all CFC, HCFC, HFC, and SF6 gases and blends. The detector offers a fully automatic sensitivity selection, capable of identifying leak rates as small as 0.10 oz/yr (3g/yr) for HFC refrigerants like R-134a. Power is supplied by three "C" size alkaline batteries, providing up to 75 hours of continuous operation, complemented by an auto-off feature after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. A low battery indicator, located on the tachometer display, alerts users when power is running low. This detector operates effectively in temperatures ranging from 0 to 140°F (-18 to 60°C). Its flexible probe measures 14 inches (35.6 cm) in length with a 0.25-inch (6.4mm) diameter, allowing access to hard-to-reach areas. The unit weighs 1 lb 2 oz (500g).

Key Features

  • POWERSHIFT™ Software: This exclusive software automatically monitors, controls, and adjusts all critical instrument settings, ensuring optimal leak detection performance without manual intervention.
  • Cold Cathode Diode (CCD) Sensor: The state-of-the-art CCD sensor technology delivers rapid response to leaks and maintains maximum sensitivity throughout its lifespan. It exhibits high resistance to background contaminants such as heavy condensation, oils, leak solutions, brake fluid, and radiator coolants.
  • Dual Visual LED Displays: Two distinct visual LED displays assist users. An 8-LED tachometer-style bar graph indicates leak intensity, while a 7-LED gearshift pattern display shows the current sensitivity range and approximate leak size, enabling precise pinpointing of leak sources.
  • User-Selectable Audible Alarms: The detector provides two user-selectable audible alarm options (high and low intensity), offering clear alerts for detected leaks.
  • One-Button Operation: Simplifying use, a single button controls all essential functions, including powering the unit on/off, resetting, and switching between audible alarm settings.
  • Automatic Calibration: The instrument automatically calibrates upon startup and can be reset to its highest sensitivity level, balancing to ambient conditions for accurate detection.

Applications

The Eliminator Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detector is an essential tool across various professional settings. It is ideal for HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) technicians performing routine maintenance and diagnostics. Automotive A/C professionals utilize it for quickly finding leaks in vehicle air conditioning systems. Furthermore, its ability to detect SF6 gases makes it suitable for specialized industrial applications, including high-voltage circuit breakers and fire extinguishing systems that use halogenated gases.
