Kent-Moore EN-48072 Sealant Applicator &
Pilot
For GM / General Motors. GMPT has determined that adding a very thin
coat of sealant around the OD of the rear main seal bore will greatly
enhance the seal performance. This sealant coat has a very tight
specification, and must be evenly applied. Sealant Applicator EN-48072
bottoms in the seal bore before the bead of sealant is applied to the
bore surface parallel to the crankshaft centerline. As EN-48072 is
removed from the bore, it leaves only the specified amount of sealant.
A crankshaft extension and appropriate mounting bolts are included to
ensure that the applicator is square to the crankshaft. Unapproved methods
could plug the bore drain hole or fail to seal properly.
