This tool is designed to reach down through the engine compartment in areas that are not easily accessible with standard tools or "universal" belt tensioner tools.Many times engine area accessories and frame components (alternators, drive belts, fluid containers, shock towers and fender wells) inhibit the direct access without removing components or needing two technicians to release the belt tensioner.For use on Ford & Mercury 1988 and later Tempo & Topaz with 2.3L engines and 1986-1991 Taurus & Sable with 2.5L engines.
