This single station OptiMate desulfater-charger is the cost effective answer for service shops that need an OptiMate with more power & portability. It is also suitable for long term storage & desulfation of automotive & marine batteries up to 100Ah. Testing ability has been expanded with 4 possible outcomes, providing a more accurate state of health assessment of the connected battery.
Features: - Three current selections allow for optimal fast charging of all power sport batteries.
Within the first 10 minutes checks & stops charging if a battery with multiple shorted cells is detected.
- Proven desulfation mode will bring back any battery measuring at least 1V and that has not suffered mechanical damage.
- Self discharge test (following charging) provides 4 possible outcomes, to more accurately determine state of health of standard filler cap, AGM & GEL starter batteries.
- GREEN = battery retained charge above 12,6V, typical of a serviceable AGM / GEL battery.
- GREEN & YELLOW = battery retained charge above 12,4V, typical of a serviceable filler cap or marginal AGM / GEL battery.
- YELLOW = battery retained charge above 12,2V, typical of a marginal filler cap battery, or a worn AGM / GEL battery needing replacement.
- RED = battery could not retain a charge a charge above 12,2V – recycle / replace the battery.
- Long term storage charging if the test result was NOT ‘red’.
